" Pell confident of go-ahead for Youth Day" Sydney's Archbishop George Pell says he does not anticipate any problems with next year's Catholic World Youth Day being held at Randwick racecourse. A fortnight ago Racing New South Wales said the Church's decision to promote the racecourse as the venue was hostile, because negotiations were continuing over its use. But Cardinal Pell says he is focusing on the event going ahead next July. "It will go on. The NSW Government has assured us it will be at Randwick. We've got no quarrel with the racing industry and the racing community. We wish them well," he said.
