KILLING IN THE NAME OF GLAMOUR Friday 15 May, 2009
Racing Victoria continues to procrastinate - delaying its decision on the future of jumps racing in Victoria. This is despite the strong public opposition to this cruel event. In The Age's online poll, 84 per cent of people voted that jumps racing should be banned, with only 16 per cent voting that it should continue. In the past fortnight alone, five horses have died on tracks in Victoria and two in South Australia. Three of these horses were at the Warrnambool Race last week - Pride of Westbury, Hassle and Clearview Bay.
